Kai Doula Co. - Postpartum Doula Services - Greater Seattle Tacoma Area - Mary Hill, LICSW If we are to teach real peace in this world. . . we shall have to begin with the children. (Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi)

I come to this work quite naturally, as caring for children and families has also been the life passion of my mother and maternal grandmother. I started working as a postpartum doula 5 years before my first child was born, towards the end of a 7 year stint as a nanny for a family with 3 children. It quickly became clear that this was the work I was meant to be doing for quite a long time. I worked with a wide range of clients over those first 5 years, learned and grew so much, and then walked away from doula work for 5 years to be a full time parent to my amazing children, born in June 2007 and August 2010. I have now returned to the job I love so much and am thrilled to bring myself to this work in a new way—as a mother. I strive to work myself out of each job I take in a humble and gracious way. I am honored to be invited into each client's home during such a vulnerable and tender time, and I hold as my highest goals to treat each family with respect, to listen deeply and to provide as much service as I can in the time that I am with each family. I have an immense passion for infants and this work feeds my soul. I would love to meet with you so we can chat, interview each other and decide if this relationship is one that is a good fit for both of us.
